A place to add to your “must visit” list should definitely be Prontino Cafe & bar on Cambie Street in the Cambie Village area. It’s sister restaurant Pronto is right next door and serves up freshly made pasta and Italian specialties (perfect on a rainy night in Vancouver).
It’s got a vintage setting with a modern twist, it’s cozy, yet not too cozy (as in fall asleep, or it’s so dark I can’t see you – cozy) and it’s busy! The bar happily serves up hand-crafted cocktails, a wine list that is playful and a decent beer selection. And even better, they offer happy hour from 5-6:30pm.
They have a great snack/tapas menu, so grab a pepperoni stick from the bar or perhaps order the warmed gorgonzola stuffed dates wrapped with prosciutto from the menu, there will be something you will enjoy!
And aside from the great food, wine and cocktails would be the great service. That’s always a key element to a successful outing.
